The group got the chance to listen to an inspiring lecture presented by Nobel-laureate Prof. Katalin Karikó at UZH.
The Paul Karrer Gold Medal 2024 was awarded to Nobel laureate external page Prof. Katalin Karikó by the University of Zurich. Our team went to listen to her lecture spanning from her first scientific steps in Hungary all the way to her seminal work on mRNA modifications allowing for their successful integration in the Covid-19 vaccines. After her spectacular talk, we were able to engage in a short but stimulating discussion with her, where she emphasized her core piece of advice: Focus on the aspects of your scientific research that lie in your control, not the ones that you can't change, and while you're at it - Be nice!
